Blog 2 for today

Hello!!!!

Today was AMAZING!!!! We are all freezing but at the same time we are doing some AWESOME work!

Today we split into 3 teams and went to 3 different houses and insulated their walls and roof. I don't know how they managed to survive until now but I am sure that they will definitely be more warm now! While we were there working, some people (Sara, Alma, Kristyna, etc) got the opportunity to hang out and minister directly to the family members! We started working immediately after breakfast, stopped for a quick lunch break and just finished right on time for dinner.

The Chilean people are AWESOME! They are so friendly and have been nothing but perfect host's to us. We got the opportunity to eat dinner with some prominent people in this area of Chile including the Mayor. They were so excited for us to be there and both parties enjoyed our time together so much that the mayor asked us to meet with him again for dinner on Tuesday.

Tomorrow we start our Discipleship/Leadership Retreat for the Young Life Members! Expect some good pictures and stories tomorrow!!!!!!

P.S. WE MADE THE 7:00PM NATIONAL NEWS!!!!!!!! (They came and covered our story while we worked today!)

After waking up, Team Transparent ate a quick breakfast, got on the bus, and headed to Chancon- a poor, rural town near Rancagua, Chile. We broke up into three teams, each which went to a different house to do a little construction work. Chile is right in the middle of winter right now, and these homes are poorly built, and so cannot adequately keep out the cold, which can be brutal, especially at night. Team Transparent got right to work, insulating different portions of these homes, so that these families can get through the tough winter.

About Us

Transparent Project Chile began on July 18, 2010 when a group of 23 people from Phoenix and L.A. traveled to Chile for a 12-day mission trip. They reached out to the Chilean people by helping to meet the needs of local communities and helped rebuild after the devastating earthquake that hit February 2010. Partnerships include: Young Life Chile, Mayor of Rancagua, and the IMB.
